DIVISION 06 · LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Efficiency in Life

Everything else in this division is about work. This one is about the rest of it — the AI tools that quietly give you back an hour a day, and the judgment to tell them from the ones that waste one.

THE PREMISE

Most people have AI on their phone and use perhaps a tenth of it. Not through lack of interest — through lack of a reason to sit down for an hour and set it up properly. The tools are genuinely useful and genuinely fiddly, and nobody has the afternoon.

These sessions are that afternoon. Hands-on, practical, on your own device, working through the applications that measurably change a week: correspondence, scheduling, documents, logistics, learning. And, just as importantly, the ones to leave alone.

No slides about the future of work. No predictions. Just the setup, the habits and the honest limits.

THE SESSIONS

Session topics

01

The personal assistant that actually sticks

Most people try an AI assistant for a week and drift back. This session covers the setup that survives the novelty wearing off: what to delegate, what never to delegate, and how to build the two or three habits that carry the rest.

02

Inbox and calendar, handled

Triage rules, draft generation, meeting prep and the scheduling back-and-forth. The single highest-return application of AI for most working people, and the one most are using at a fraction of its capability.

03

Documents, forms and the paperwork of living

Tenancy contracts, insurance policies, school forms, government portals, warranty terms. How to get an AI to read the thing properly, what it reliably gets wrong, and when you still need a human.

04

Travel, logistics and the household

Itinerary building, visa and document checks, shopping and comparison, home maintenance scheduling. Practical, unglamorous, and where the time actually goes.

05

Learning anything faster

Using AI as a tutor rather than an answer machine - study plans, explanation at the right level, practice generation and the self-testing that makes it stick. Useful for professionals and for parents helping children.

06

Creative tools without the cringe

Image, audio and video generation for personal projects: what these tools do well, where the output still announces itself as machine-made, and the licensing questions people rarely think to ask.

07

Judgment: what not to automate

The counterweight to every other session. Where AI output is confidently wrong, what should never go into a chatbot, how to spot a hallucinated fact in a domain you do not know, and the privacy trade-offs behind free tools.

FORMATS

Team sessions

Run for a department or a whole office as a wellbeing and productivity session rather than a technical one. Popular as a follow-on to an AI tools rollout.

Community and majlis

Delivered through the community programme as evening sessions, open to members and their guests.

One-to-one

For individuals who want their own setup built around their own tools. The personal counterpart to Executive AI Enablement in the AI Strategy division.

QUESTIONS

Efficiency in Life, in plain answers

What is the Efficiency in Life track?

A set of workshops, masterclasses and seminars on the AI tools and applications that make everyday life easier - personal assistants, inbox and calendar automation, document handling, travel and household logistics, learning and creative tools - plus the judgment to know which are worth the setup time.

Is this a corporate training programme?

It can be delivered to a team, a community group or an individual. It sits deliberately outside the governance and compliance content in the rest of the Learning and Development division - the subject here is your day, not your organization's risk register.

Do I need any technical background?

None. Sessions are hands-on and start from the tools people already have on their phones. Bring the device you actually use.

How long is a session?

Most run ninety minutes to half a day, depending on how much hands-on setup time the group wants. Multi-session programmes are available where a group wants to build the habits over a few weeks rather than in one sitting.
